E8 Markets and Lucid Trading in brief

E8 Markets

E8 Signature (Futures) is a one-step evaluation whose "Dynamic" drawdown trails at end of day and locks at the starting balance once closed profit equals the drawdown, with no daily loss limit or consistency rule in the evaluation. E8 Zero Starter and Zero Max trail at end of day without locking during the challenge and have a 40% best-day rule that raises the target. Tradovate only.

Lucid Trading

Four plans: LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDaily and LucidDirect. Every plan trails at end of day and locks at the initial balance plus $100; the LucidDaily evaluation is also sold with intraday trailing. Every daily loss limit is soft, a "soft breach" that does not fail the account.

How these rules play out

Lucid Trading's LucidDaily (intraday eval) plan trails the drawdown intraday: the floor follows the highest balance the account reaches during the session, open profit included, and never moves back down — a winning trade given back before it is closed still lifts it. For example, at Lucid Trading's LucidDaily (intraday eval) plan a $50,000 account starts with its floor at $48,000, $2,000 under the start.

On E8 Markets and Lucid Trading's LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDaily (EOD eval) and LucidDirect plans the drawdown trails at end of day: the floor is recalculated once, from the closing balance, so open profit given back during the session does not raise it — but equity touching the floor during the session still counts. For example, at E8 Markets and Lucid Trading's LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDaily (EOD eval) and LucidDirect plans a $50,000 account starts with its floor at $48,000, $2,000 under the start.

On E8 Markets' E8 Signature plan and Lucid Trading's LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDaily (EOD eval) and LucidDirect plans the trailing floor stops rising once it reaches breakeven and stays there. On E8 Markets' E8 Zero Starter and E8 Zero Max plans it keeps trailing for the whole evaluation.

A soft daily loss limit pauses the day instead of failing the account: reach it and open positions are flattened, trading stops until the next session, and the account stays open. Lucid Trading's LucidPro, LucidDaily (EOD eval), LucidDaily (intraday eval) and LucidDirect plans set it at $1,200 on $50,000. E8 Markets and Lucid Trading's LucidFlex plan have no daily loss limit, so a losing day is bounded only by the max drawdown.

Lucid Trading starts the trading day at 6:00 PM ET (5:00 PM CT); a daily loss limit counts from that reset, not from midnight.

A consistency rule caps how much of the total profit one day may carry. E8 Markets' E8 Zero Starter and E8 Zero Max plans and Lucid Trading's LucidFlex plan cap any single day at 40% of total profit, so it takes at least 3 profitable days to finish inside the rule. One day may then carry at most $1,200 of a $3,000 target. Lucid Trading's LucidDaily (EOD eval) and LucidDaily (intraday eval) plans cap any single day at 50% of total profit, so it takes at least 2 profitable days to finish inside the rule. One day may then carry at most $1,500 of a $3,000 target. Lucid Trading's LucidDirect plan caps any single day at 20% of total profit, so it takes at least 5 profitable days to finish inside the rule. One day may then carry at most $600 of a $3,000 target. E8 Markets' E8 Signature plan and Lucid Trading's LucidPro plan apply no consistency rule in the evaluation, so one large day can count in full.

E8 Markets sets no minimum number of days.

On automated trading — a strategy or bot sending the orders — E8 Markets has no written answer on record; at Lucid Trading it is allowed in the evaluation and on a funded account. Written answers: Lucid Trading (read ).

Choosing between E8 Markets and Lucid Trading

E8 Markets and Lucid Trading differ on 4 of the evaluation rules compared here: drawdown model, trailing floor, daily loss limit and consistency rule. If your trades often run into open profit that you give back before closing them, start with the drawdown: E8 Markets trails at end of day, while Lucid Trading trails intraday or at end of day, depending on the plan. If one or two large days make up most of your profit, the consistency rule sets how fast you can finish: E8 Markets caps one day at 40% of total profit on some plans and has no cap on others; Lucid Trading caps one day at 20–50% of total profit on some plans and has no cap on others. If you keep trading after a losing morning, look at what the daily loss limit does: E8 Markets has no daily loss limit; Lucid Trading pauses the day at its daily loss limit on some plans and has no limit on others.

Once funded, the profit split is 80/20 at E8 Markets and 90/10 at Lucid Trading. Payout terms — E8 Markets: On demand (5 profitable days between payouts; max 4 per Signature account); Lucid Trading: On request once eligible. E8 Markets sells 3 plans: E8 Signature, E8 Zero Starter and E8 Zero Max; Lucid Trading sells 4 plans: LucidPro, LucidFlex, LucidDaily and LucidDirect. Each plan carries its own version of the rules above, which is why they are listed plan by plan. If a strategy or bot will send your orders, E8 Markets has no written answer on record, and Lucid Trading's written answer is allowed in the evaluation and on a funded account.
